A preached retreat for women religious with Rev. Albert Haase, OFM.

Living the Lord's Prayer.

In the fourth century, Tertullian referred to the Lord's Prayer as the "summary of the whole Gospel."  And so, we are challenged not only to pray these words of Jesus but to live them in our lives.  Through two daily conferences, daily Eucharist with homily and time for private consultation, the retreat will explore the implications of living the Lord's Prayer.

Albert Haase, OFM, was ordained a priest in 1983 and received a Ph.D. in Historical Theology from Fordham University in 1990.  He has preached parish missions and retreats across the United States and Cameroon, West Africa.  In 2004, he returned to the US after spending twelve years as a missionary in mainland China, where he ministered as pastor for the English-speaking Catholic community of Beijing while working as Director of Human Resources for Deloitte Touche.  Author of five books on popular spirituality, he is currently an adjunct professor of spirituality at Catholic Theological Union and Director of the School of Spirituality at Mayslake Ministries, Westmont, IL.  His website is www.albertOFM.net.  Information about his next book can be found at www.ivpress.com/cominghome.  You may also hear Fr. Albert from time to time on Relevant Radio as a guest commentator, together with his sister who is a professed woman religious.

The retreat will commence early evening on July 7 and conclude with lunch on July 11.  The retreat offering is $385.

July 18 to July 25, 2008
Spirituality for the Golden Years.

Sister Constance Krstolic, OSB, will lead a retreat for the pre-retired, semi-retired and retired.

A new attitude toward one's old being is a gift worth celebrating!  New life, the Holy Spirit's gift, must begin with the ability to claim our lives as they have been and as they are now.  This workshop/retreat provides the means to begin to reclaim more of one's largely neglected personal life, to recall social changes that have occurred over one's lifetime, and to continue along the road with renewed enthusiasm.

For twelve years, Spirituality for the Golden Years has been offered at the monastery of St. Scholastica for seniors from across the country.  In response to requests of religious communities, the retreat is now being presented at other locations as "Golden Years on the Road."

Topics include Celebrating the Journey, The Sign of Remembrance, All the Good Byes, Conversion: Turning and Re-turning to God, The Power of Affirmation, The Wisdom of the Elders, The Ministry of Encouragement, as well as other presentations.

Sr. Constance, OSB, has over twenty-five years' experience as a Benedictine, teacher, religious educator, vocation/formation minister and spiritual director.  She has given retreats and workshops for individuals, for religious communities, and for corporations and institutions, both at her monastery in Atchison, Kansas, and across the country.

The retreat will begin on Friday afternoon July 18 and will continue through lunch on July 25, 2008.  Sr. Constance will be available for private consultation throughout the week, as well as be the presenter of the reflections.  Plans are to also have daily Mass.  The cost for this eight day retreat, for accommodations, meals and materials is $545.00.
